5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Blender and a great price for the quality, September 23, 2010
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 52182 WavePower 12-Speed Blender, Black (Kitchen)
I have had this blender for 2 1/2 years now and it still works excellent. I have been able to make the creamiest smoothies with it. For example, I can blend strawberries, blueberries, and bananas together so well, that there are no longer any seeds or grainy texture present. I will definitely purchase this blender again if I need a new one in the future.

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 52182 WavePower 12-Speed Blender, Black (Kitchen)
I've had this blender about 3 weeks and it's running fine. I don't think all the buttons make much difference in speed/torque but it blends well and that's what I bought it to do. I haven't tried blending ice yet but my neighbor's unit blends it very well. That's why I bought this model. I figured if her's chopped ice then it ought to handle ice cream, milk and chocolate OK too. So far I'm not disappointed.

I had a $150 Waring (Copper base) blender that fell apart after several months of use so I thought I'd give a cheaper name/model a chance.

We wanted a large light weight blender that we could put in the diswasher. This product has fit the bill. We have had no leakage problems that some have written about. We are very pleased with this Hamilton Beach blender.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glass makes the difference, January 28, 2009

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 50242N WaveMaker 10-Speed Blender, Black (Kitchen)
The glass container really sets this blender apart. It doesn't stain, it's easier to clean then plastic and just plain looks classier. Also, I've always had trouble with frozen drink mixes (the bottom blends, but the top part never moves down to the bottom). I always thought I didn't do it right. I never have that problem with this blender -- cheers to a well blended margarita!

I'm glad I decided on this blender. A bit expensive, I think, but you definitely get your money's worth. It blends smoothly and efficiently, and I love that the container is solid glass rather than plastic. I recommend this very highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Single Mixer For The $$$$, April 5, 2010

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 51103 Single Serve Blender with Travel Lid (Kitchen)
I've owned this single-serve blender for over a year. We use it 2 times every day (& sometimes more) with ice, fruit, protein powder, etc. We fill it to the top most times too. It blends great every time. No problems at all, ever! Wish I could say that for my Kitchen-Aid large blender. I highly recommend this small blender.

This little blender is a jewel. Just the right size for a fairly large fruit smoothie. I've had it now for about a month, and have made a breakfast drink every day and its been very dependable. Some of the reviews I read prior to purchasing this one were somewhat negative. The issue was smelling the electric motor like it was overheating and not being able to blend some fruits like pineapple or apples. I haven't experienced the problems and suspect the folks were not (1)"pulsing" the drink mix as called for in the instructions and (2) not using only tender fruits like bananas and strawberries. The small motor is not designed for a hard grind nor continuous use, hence "pulse is required". And on top of being the right size, this blender was priced within my frugal budget. Yes, I'm a tight wad and demand a good product for my money, and this one fit the bill.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stay tuned., April 4, 2010
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 51103 Single Serve Blender with Travel Lid (Kitchen)
Purchased for use as an ice crusher/shaver, not as a smoothie maker. I don't make smoothies (I will try some). I bought this because it is inexpensive. It works nicely as a crusher if pulsed with five or six ice cubes. Run it longer between pulses to get shaved ice. There is no on/off button: if the unit is plugged in and you touch the Pulse button, it will go. Unplug the unit until you have everything ready. When you are finished, unplug it.
